Augusto Borges is a fourth-generation farmer of the Borges and Ferreira families, and he now takes care of the family farm. He is also a member of the APAS Coffee cooperative where he takes some part of his coffee. But most of his production from Capadocia goes into his own lots, where some are small and others have a greater volume.
Capadocia is located in the Mantiqueira de Minas mountains in the South of Minas Gerais, with altitudes between 1090 m and 1280 m and average rainfall between 1250 mm and 1400 mm/year. The property is surrounded by riparian woodlands and has two water springs.
Processing at Capadocia is mostly natural as is common in Brazil, but for some micro lots Augusto also produce anaerobic, carbonic maceration, semi-washed and honey.
"We where looking for a new partner in Brazil and we met Augusto during a coffee event in Europe. Starting small, we bought a few lots from Capadocia and bit by bit we have increased volume over the years." -Per Nordby
